Urban Sangathans
ABOUT
Urban Sangathans are community-led platforms facilitated by Basera to strengthen access to entitlements, basic services, and housing rights among urban poor communities. Rooted in collective action and local leadership, these Sangathans enable communities to engage with public systems, articulate their needs, and advocate for improved access to services and rights.
The programme focuses on building informed and organised community groups that can navigate institutional processes, access welfare schemes, and address systemic gaps in urban service delivery. By strengthening local leadership—particularly among women—the Sangathans play a critical role in fostering participation, accountability, and long-term urban resilience.
